Salary Range: $49,920-$56,014, Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.

Job Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Project Coordinator to join our growing team at Ardmore Roderick. This role supports project teams delivering critical infrastructure work for the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). The Assistant Project Coordinator provides essential administrative, tracking, and coordination support to ensure the success of transportation projects throughout the city. This position is based in Chicago, IL, with field work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers and engineers in tracking project milestones and deliverables
- Coordinate and organize project documents, including submittals, permits, and inspection reports
- Support meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation for internal and client meetings
- Assist with compiling data for monthly and quarterly reporting to clients and internal stakeholders
- Monitor and update project tracking systems and schedules under supervision
- Conduct field visits to observe and document project status and provide logistical support
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, transportation, or administrative coordination
- Familiarity with public infrastructure or municipal projects (CDOT preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
- Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
- Have good to great organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Familiarity with City of Chicago departments and permitting processes
- Experience working in a consultant or government agency environment
- Experience using project management or document control systems
- Interest in long-term career development in project management or transportation infrastructure
