We are seeking a new Design Technology Specialist to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. A Design Technology Specialist supports the implementation, optimization, and integration of design software and digital workflows across engineering and architecture teams. This role bridges the gap between technical design staff and IT by ensuring tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and BIM platforms are effectively utilized.

Salary Range: $104,998-135,012, Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.

Job Overview
We are seeking a new Design Technology Specialist to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. A Design Technology Specialist supports the implementation, optimization, and integration of design software and digital workflows across engineering and architecture teams. This role bridges the gap between technical design staff and IT by ensuring tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and BIM platforms are effectively utilized.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and administer design software platforms such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and BIM tools
- Collaborate with subject matter experts within operations teams to develop, implement and maintain CAD/BIM standards and templates
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide end-user training, onboarding, and support to ensure consistent and efficient use of design technologies
- Manage and support document management systems such as Bentley ProjectWise, including user access, file structure and workflows
- Evaluate, test and recommend new/emerging design technologies and digital tools to improve/streamline project delivery and productivity
- Assist project teams in troubleshooting technical issues related to design software, file coordination and data exchange
- Coordinate with IT and software vendors to ensure licensing compliance, system compatibility and technical support
- Promote best practices for digital collaboration, version control and design file management across disciplines
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, Construction Technology or a related field
- 8+ years of experience supporting CAD and/or BIM workflows in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environment
- Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and Navisworks
- Experience administering or supporting document management systems such as Bentley ProjectWise, Autodesk Docs or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of CAD/BIM standards, file organization and digital collaboration practices
- Demonstrated ability to provide end-user training, develop technical documentation and support design teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot software and workflow issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams and operational subject matter experts
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail and consistency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., AutoLISP, Dynamo, Python)
- Knowledge of cloud-based collaboration tools and emerging AEC technologies (e.g., Reality Capture, 3D Visualization)
