Job Overview
We are seeking a new Vice President of Utilities to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all strategic and tactical efforts and spearheading the operations, growth, profit and sustainability of the Utilities sector. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about leading our team of Utilities experts and solving our current and future client needs.  We are primarily searching for this candidate in Chicago, but other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provides oversight of financial statements and operational processes, evaluating and standardizing operational processes and ensuring the utilities sector's profitability to meet or exceed annual budget
  • Manages a business unit consisting of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel
  • Provides accurate forecasting of department financial and staffing goal
  • Collaborate with other Ardmore Roderick leaders to support the company’s goals and initiatives including utilization
  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Develops and fosters nationwide growth by identifying opportunities with existing and new clients coupled with sustainable workflow
  • Lead pursuit strategy for key client accounts and new potential clients
  • Develops team members by mentoring, cultivating relationships and leading with integrity
  • Monitors team performance to ensure group’s compliance to quality, contract scopes, schedules, budgets and procedures
  • Identifies unique growth and innovation opportunities within the secto
  • Participates in the RFP/RFQ process including leading scope development, preparation of project approach, technical execution plans, schedules and interviews
  • Be collaborative with other Ardmore Roderick business lines that might create cross selling opportunities that drive the bottom line for our overall business profitability

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and or business
  • Possess the expertise in leading the identification and capture of new clients at a national level
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience in a similar leadership role
  • Direct experience managing the P&L for a nationwide division
  • Advanced knowledge of the electric, gas or water utility industry
  • Have a passion for growing and mentoring team members, creating an environment that fosters strong team growth and collaboration with exceptional problem-solving skills for our client’s needs

  • Knowledge of electrical, gas or water transmission and / or distribution design and construction

Salary Range: $235,200-259,640, Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
